Research overview
Melanotan II is a synthetic alpha-MSH analog that came out of a 1980s University of Arizona research program on melanin production. It is broadly non-selective across melanocortin receptors, unlike the more selective Melanotan I and PT-141. Research on Melanotan II led to PT-141, which was identified as one of its metabolites.
