Research overview

KPV is a tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val) corresponding to the C-terminal end of alpha-MSH. Research reports that it retains alpha-MSH's anti-inflammatory activity without its pigmentation effects, acting largely independently of melanocortin receptors, with NF-kB inhibition as the proposed mechanism. Evidence is preclinical, from cell culture and rodent colitis models, with no human trials.
